First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic has met today with the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Harlem Desir.
Minister Dacic underlined that the Republic of Serbia attached great significance to freedom of expression and protection of journalists. In that context, the Government of the Republic of Serbia condemned all attacks against journalists and established an independent Commission Investigating Murders of Journalists.
OSCE RFM Harlem Desir stressed that the protection of journalists and the prevention of impunity were priorities in his work as well as the promotion of professional and ethical standards.
The two sides expressed mutual readiness to continue cooperation and the exchange of information between the Republic of Serbia and the OSCE in the field of freedom of the media.
