Participation of the Republic of Serbia at the Structured Dialogue meeting within the OSCE framework

Bec OEBS__7__april_2017_034Acting Assistant Minister for Security Policy Ambassador Branimir Filipovic headed the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the first thematic meeting of the Structured Dialogue on current and future security challenges and risks affecting the OSCE region, held in Vienna, on 7 April 2017. The theme of the meeting was “Converging and diverging threat perceptions in the OSCE area”.

At the OSCE Ministerial Meeting in Hamburg, December 2016, Ministers of the 57 OSCE participating States agreed to launch a Structured Dialogue process by adopting the Declaration “From Lisbon to Hamburg”, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the OSCE Arms Control Framework.

Ambassador Filipovic, who participated in the meeting, stated that the Republic of Serbia supported the Structured Dialogue, which should – in a conceptualized, transparent and inclusive manner, pave the way for substantive and productive discussions on issues related to overcoming security risks in the OSCE area, and be an instrument of confidence-building and strengthening cooperation among OSCE participating States in this field.
