First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic sent a message of condolences to the family of Jelena Zigon.
“An esteemed actress has left us, one who enthralled us with nuanced performances in her roles. Her loyalty and devotion to the audiences who loved and respected her and with whom she selflessly shared her talent will be missed by all.
I am confident that many new generations will come of age beholding her graceful appearance on screen and seeing her as their role model.
I will always remember her as a person who responded with modesty to all distinctions and awards she received, giving credit to her colleagues as well.
As a muse to whom dozens of great poets’ works were dedicated to, I know that she will continue to live in the poem Aca Sekulic devoted to her entitled May You at Least Be Eternal (Bar ti budi vecna)”, reads the condolence message by Minister Dacic.
