Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Serbia, Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al-Thani.
Ambassador Al-Thani informed Minister Dacic about the positions of the Government of Qatar concerning the ongoing crisis in the relations among the countries of the Persian Gulf.
Minister Dacic thanked the Ambassador for the information he presented and conveyed that the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs followed with great attention the development of the situation in the wider Gulf region, in the context of the friendly bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the State of Qatar and other Gulf countries, considering that there were many citizens of the Republic of Serbia working and living in Qatar.
Minister Dacic encouraged the resolution of the current crisis through dialogue, with the aim of easing the situation in the Gulf. In this context, the Republic of Serbia called on all sides to demonstrate restraint and wisdom and to reach a peaceful resolution of the crisis, through talks in the framework of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf.
