Minister Dacic meets Foreign Ministers of Belarus, Lebanon, Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister of Croatia and President of Bolivia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had bilateral meetings, on the sidelines of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, with Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Trinidad and Tobago and Lebanon.

In the talks with his colleague, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makey, the interlocutors noted that the two countries had good bilateral relations, and that there were possibilities for further enhancement of cooperation. The two Ministers of Foreign Affairs also agreed that strengthening of cooperation in the economic area was also possible.

Minister Makey underlined that, given the traditionally friendly relations, Serbia may count on Belarus support on issues particularly important to Serbia.

In the talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago Dennis Moses, Minister Dacic thanked his interlocutor for his country’s principled position regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, and informed him about the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue. Minister Dacic emphasized that Trinidad and Tobago may count on Serbia’s support, recalling the scholarship program available to foreign students in Serbia.

Dacic invited Minister Moses to visit Serbia in the coming period. The Foreign Minister of Trinidad and Tobago underscored that his country’s position concerning the Kosovo and Metohija issue was known and that it would not change.

At the meeting between Minister Dacic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon Gibran Bassil, it was agreed that the relations between Serbia and Lebanon were traditionally good and friendly, and that they should be fostered and further promoted.

Minister Bassil drew attention to the economic problems facing Lebanon, and proposed strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Dacic agreed and underlined that there were vast possibilities to promote cooperation in the economic area, inviting Minister Bassil to visit Serbia at the beginning of 2018.

On the fringes of the UN General Assembly session, Minister Dacic had brief meetings with President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia Evo Morales and Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic.

Bolivian President Morales and Minister Dacic noted that the relations between the two countries were good, and agreed that there was room for deepening and enhancing cooperation.

With the Prime Minister of Croatia, Minister Dacic discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the situation in the region.
