Ministers Dacic and Szijjarto meet on the margins of the third joint session of the Governments of Serbia and Hungary in Nis

daccich-i-sijartoFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met on 20 November 2016 with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, on the margins of the third joint session of the Governments of Serbia and Hungary, held in Nis.

In the talks both sides expressed satisfaction with the session taking place in Nis, estimating that holding of a joint session in this city reflected readiness on both sides to maintain further and deepen the overall cooperation which was, at this point, already highly developed. They confirmed that the level of relations between Serbia and Hungary was at its historic high, noting that there were no open issues in the relations. Considering the next year’s 135th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Hungary, at the initiative of Minister Dacic, they agreed to mark this occasion accordingly.

Views were exchanged on topical issues worldwide, particularly focusing on the situation in the region. Minister Dacic provided additional information to his Hungarian counterpart about the situation and position of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as on the importance of Trepca to Serbia.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic expressed his great gratitude for the support Hungary extended so far to the Republic of Serbia’s European integration process.
