Political relations between Serbia and Vietnam traditionally good, with a high level of mutual trust and support on key issues noted

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today with Mr. Tran Thanh Cong, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Serbia, resident in Bucharest.

Minister Dacic estimated that the political relations between the two countries were traditionally good and characterized by a high level of mutual trust and support on key issues.

He underlined Serbia’s interest for the further strengthening of political dialogue, support on multilateral issues as well as in the frameworks of international forums, exchange of high and top level visits, and the promotion of economic cooperation. He extended an invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam to visit the Republic of Serbia.

Ambassador Tran Thanh Cong estimated that the bilateral relations between the two countries were good and friendly, noting that there was room for their further promotion. He agreed that it was necessary to intensify the political and economic relations, and other forms of cooperation as well, including tourism, cultural and educational exchanges, etc.

The 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is marked this year, also giving impetus to the further promotion of Serbia-Vietnam cooperation.
