Visit of the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Senate

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Senate, comprising the First Vice-Chairman of the Italian Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee, and Senator Vito Petrocelli.

During the talks, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction over the excellent bilateral relations existing between Serbia and Italy, having the character of strategic partnership. It was noted by both sides that parliamentary cooperation was at a high level, contributing significantly to the enhancement of the countries’ overall bilateral relations.

Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude for the Italian Parliament’s continued support to Serbia on its European integration path, and informed of the current situation in the EU integration area, as well as the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

The Foreign Minister particularly referred to the historical and religious aspect of Kosovo and Metohija, that is, the essential reasons underlying the fact that Serbia would never recognize the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo.

Members of the delegation of the Italian Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee thanked their host for the organization of the visit, highly important to them in terms of enabling full perception of the possibilities of promoting the overall bilateral relations, and exchanging views on regional and global issues.
