First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic sent his best wishes to the President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Serbia Mr. Ruben Fuks, to the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish community in Serbia Mr. Isaac Asiel, and to all citizens of Serbia celebrating the major feast of Pesach.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and on my own behalf, I extend most cordial congratulations to all citizens of Serbia celebrating the major Jewish feast of Pesach, with a wish that this holy day brings good health, peace and well-being to them and to their families and friends.
The rich culture and tradition of the Jewish community is woven into the history and culture of Serbia.
For centuries now, we have been living together in Serbia as friends, tied by the unbreakable and eternal bonds, forged in our joint sufferings and struggles. I trust that this holy day of hope, salvation and faith in a better life will encourage us all to be more understanding and to cherish mutual respect and tolerance. Moreover, I hope that we will continue our joint work on building an even better future and a better life, to the benefit of Serbia and all its citizens”, reads the congratulatory letter signed by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.
