First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic met today in Bosilegrad with Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Ognyan Gerdzhikov.
In the talks, both sides expressed satisfaction with the good bilateral relations existing between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as mutual readiness for their further promotion.
The talks presented an opportunity to exchange views on the two countries’ cooperation in the areas of mutual interest, primarily in the economy, infrastructure, energy, and also on issues of interest for the Bulgarian national minority.
They emphasized in particular the importance of implementing joint projects as soon as possible, namely the construction of Nis-Sofia motorway, reconstruction of Nis-Dimitrovgrad railway and the construction of Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnector.
Both sides expressed readiness to invest efforts aimed at economic empowerment of Bosilegrad and its region, thus creating conditions conducive to economic growth and the promotion of the standard of living.
During their stay in Bosilegrad, Minister Dacic and the Bulgarian Prime Minister laid wreaths at the monument dedicated to the Bulgarian national hero Vasil Levski and jointly opened the exhibition “The World Children’s Picture Contest”, held within the 24th international Easter festival.
