State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Toncev met today with US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott.
They discussed the current situation on the Korean peninsula. Ambassador Scott briefed the State Secretary on the position of the United States in connection with the current developments in the Far East.
State Secretary Toncev conveyed to Ambassador Scott that the state leadership of the Republic of Serbia would be informed about the US position and proposals regarding the current crisis. He stressed that Serbia was aware that the crisis afflicting the Korean Peninsula posed a serious global security threat.
The State Secretary underlined that Serbia was committed to a peaceful resolution of the crisis on the Korean Peninsula and that it represented one of the most important issues in international relations today.
