Intensifying political dialogue between Serbia and San Marino

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a meeting today with his colleague, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of San Marino Nicola Renzi, who is on an official visit to Belgrade.

The visit is of essential importance, as it is the first visit by a minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of San Marino to the Republic of Serbia after 13 years.

It was concluded, in a cordial conversation, that the relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of San Marino were very good, without outstanding issues, and that there was room for making the political dialogue between the two countries more dynamic and substantive.

The interlocutors underlined mutual interest to promote cooperation in many areas, particularly in the economic field.

After the talks, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs signed the Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation and Tax Evasion in respect of tax on income.

Minister Renzi expressed his particular pleasure at the signing of this Agreement, as an initial step enabling the promotion of more extensive cooperation in economic and financial sectors.

Both Ministers expressed their confidence that the signing of the Agreement would facilitate mutual investments and the establishment of relations on a broader economic level.

The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of San Marino took the opportunity to extend a formal invitation to Minister Dacic to visit San Marino, in order to continue the upward trend of intensifying the political dialogue in the period ahead.

During the visit to Serbia, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Nicola Renzi also had official meetings with President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez, Minister of Culture and Media Vladan Vukosavljevic, and State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Miroslav Knezevic.
