First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic has met today with Secretary of State of the Holy See Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
Following the meeting, Minister Dacic underlined at a press conference that it was his great honour that Cardinal Parolin accepted his invitation to pay a visit to Serbia, particularly as he was the highest-ranking official of the Holy See to visit our country.
Minister Dacic pointed out that Serbia was desirous of further promoting and intensifying the relations and cooperation with the Vatican, assessed as stable and good, and that this visit would give a positive impulse to the further promotion of mutual relations.
“There is a high level of compatibility as to the significant international issues such as: protection of Christians and Christian heritage; promotion of human rights of Christians, refugees and migrants; UN Sustainable Development Agenda implementation; eradication of poverty, family care; environmental protection; fight against climate change, etc. In that context, we should continue to promote our cooperation within international organizations and in the foreign policy area in general”, Minister Dacic emphasized.
Minister Dacic underscored that it was of importance that the cooperation was in the interest of all peoples including our churches with a view to regional stability, good relations and seeking common interests for the future.
