Branimir Filipovic and Julius LiljeströmConsultations were held with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden on the premises of the Serbian MFA.

The talks were led by the Acting Assistant Minister for Security Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Ambassador Branimir Filipovic and Deputy Director-General and Head of the European Security Department at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Julius Liljeström.

During the consultations, both sides agreed to further enhance cooperation on security policy, examining the experiences of Serbia and Sweden with NATO partner cooperation through the PfP programme and participation in international peace missions and operations.

Moreover, theey exchanged views on issues pertaining to regional cooperation and regional security, the EU ‘s Common Foreign and Security Policy and Common Security and Defence Policy, arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation, tackling of current security challenges and other issues of common interest.

It was agreed to maintain this type of consultations and to establish the regular practice of dialogue in this format between the two Ministries, in order for the two sides to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s positions on a number of important matters in the field of security policy.
