Nemanja StevanovicDraft Statement by State Secretary of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Stevanovic on a arise of jubilee of Africa Day.

Your Excellencies,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Dear friends,

When a Organization of African Unity was founded on 25 May 1963, it was transparent that this day would turn a ancestral one, and it is therefore no consternation that it is distinguished as Africa Day via a African continent.
On that occasion, we have collected here in Belgrade today, shortly before a large holiday, to symbol and applaud this miracle date.

Serbia, as a crony of Africa, could have finished zero reduction than to embody May 25 in a calendar of vital dates. Therefore, a Government of Serbia adopted a preference to strictly symbol a Day of loyalty with a peoples of Africa on that date.

Serbian family with African countries have lasted for decades and they rest on plain foundations of community, understanding, support, team-work and solidarity.

Serbia, as a largest Successor State to Yugoslavia and to a process towards Africa, feels unapproachable of a stately past and common victories. we am happy that we can contend that my nation was on a right side of story when a peoples of Africa were fighting opposite colonial powers, given it lent a support, in all ways probable – politically, diplomatically, morally, though also materially and militarily – to a usually onslaught of African people for freedom, and we am happier still that this support has not been lost in Africa.

I myself have visited some African countries as a Special Envoy of Aleksandar Vucic, President of a Republic of Serbia. Warm welcome, constructive talks and successful and implemented agreements are explanation that family between Africa and Serbia do not usually have a smashing past, though also a earnest future.

Apart from accessible countries – and indeed, Serbia has usually friends in Africa – well-developed team-work has also been grown with a African Union. A declare to a special inlet of a family is that a National Assembly of a Republic of Serbia is a usually one among a parliaments in Europe that has sealed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Pan-African Parliament, though also that a Memorandum of Understanding on Economic Cooperation between a Government of a Republic of Serbia and a African Union Commission has been in force given 27 Jun 2015. The heads of African continent organizations – Her Excellency Mrs. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, a afterwards Chairperson of a African Union Commission, His Excellency Mr Erastus Mwencha, former Deputy Chairperson of a African Union Commission and His Excellency Mr. Roger Nkodo Dang, President of a Pan-African Parliament – have already visited Belgrade, and we would be gay to acquire other African leaders and officials in Serbia, as good as businessmen, sportsmen, artists, scientists, students…

The Republic of Serbia supports tighten team-work between a members of a African Union and believes that African problems need to be solved in Africa. We are always gratified to see that a friends make assent and we will, as distant as possible, make a grant to it.

On a other hand, it worries us to see any misunderstandings or conflicts between a friends and we therefore support all initiatives by a United Nations, a African Union and a members and informal mercantile communities launched with a perspective to substantiating assent and ensuring tolerable growth on a continent.

We will continue to take partial in peacekeeping missions in Africa, wishing that their numbers be reduced, as good as in charitable and growth activities, and we will continue to yield university scholarships for African students in Serbia, who, as shown, are an critical contracting cause in a family between a countries and peoples.

We are looking brazen to furthering a team-work and strengthening a friendship.

Long live Serbia, prolonged live Africa!
