Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic addressed a letter of condolences to his German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel following the death of the former German Chancellor.
“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I convey to you sincere condolences on the demise of former German ChancellorHelmut Kohl, one of the greatest European leaders of the second half of the 20th century.
Germany will remember him as a man who united the country, but also as a visionary who set in motion the initiative for the introduction of a singular European currency. The world will remember him as a man who laid the foundations of the European Union.”
