Minister Dacic and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union on the importance of inter-parliamentary dialogue

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Mr. Saber Chowdhury, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the world’s largest and longest-running international parliamentary organization.

In today’s meeting, both sides stressed the importance of the promotion of inter-parliamentary dialogue, parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation with the IPU.

Minister Dacic recalled that the current year marked the 125th anniversary of Serbia’s IPU membership  as well as that Serbia’s full membership status had never been interrupted or amended in any way, including in the period of sanctions imposed on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.
