Minister Dacic meets the delegation of UK MPs

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had a meeting today with a UK Parliamentary Delegation, comprising MPs from the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

According to the common assessment, the bilateral relations between the two countries are good, with possibilities for further improvement, as well as for intensifying political dialogue, particularly on the high and highest levels. In this context, inter-parliamentary cooperation was singled out as very important.

The interlocutors agreed that there was a common interest in further deepening and strengthening all forms of bilateral cooperation, and that vast potentials existed for further enhancing the economic cooperation.

It was noted that Serbia and the United Kingdom, which would be marking this year the 180th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, were tied with bonds of historical friendship and alliance forged in two World Wars.

Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude for the continued UK support, thus far, of Serbia’s European integration.

During the talks, views were exchanged on the situation in the Western Balkans, and the importance of maintaining stability and enhancing regional cooperation was underlined.
