Minister Dacic confers with Sir Alan Duncan

Ivica Dacic with Sir Alan DuncanFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has received today Sir Alan Duncan, UK Minister of State for Europe and the Americas at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The two collocutors discussed strengthening of bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United Kingdom, continuation of the European integration process of Serbia, relations in the region and the perspective of the Western Balkans as well as the current international issues.

Both sides agreed on the need to promote cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Serbia, particularly on the high level.
As regards the Kosovo and Metohija issue, they underlined the necessity for finding a durable peaceful solution that will take account of the interests of both peoples and promote stability in the entire region.

The UK Minister reiterated support by the official London to the EU integration process of Serbia and the readiness for the advancement of their bilateral relations.


Minister Dacic meets with Deputy Director General of the Council of Europe Development Bank

Ivica Dacic with Mr. Stephan SellenFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Mr. Stephan Sellen, Deputy Director General of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), who is on a working visit to Belgrade.

In a cordial and constructive meeting, they commended the progress made in its framework as they discussed the Regional Housing Programme being carried out by Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro in cooperation with the UNHCR and the OSCE, including participation of the Council of Europe Development Bank and other partners and donors.

It was underlined in the meeting that the Republic of Serbia attached great importance to this process as an example of good practice. It was pointed out that the Republic of Serbia had, in addition to refugees, also received a large number of internally displaced persons from Kosovo and Metohija, who were still awaiting a solution after as many as 19 years.

The officials stressed the importance of the projects being implemented in Serbia by the Council of Europe Development Bank, including the provision of funding for health sector infrastructure reconstruction projects.


Serbia ready to further strengthen and expand overall cooperation with UAE in all areas

Ivica Dacic and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al NahyanFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, who is on a bilateral visit to the United Arab Emirates, met today the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In a cordial and friendly meeting, both sides noted a high level of bilateral relations and cooperation, and agreed on their further reinforcement and promotion.

Minister Dacic underlined his satisfaction over the level of contacts exchanged at the high and highest levels alike, and over the upswing recorded in the two countries’ economic cooperation. The Minister also reaffirmed the readiness of Serbia to further strengthen and expand overall cooperation in all areas.

The meeting also highlighted satisfaction that the past period witnessed the signing of many important bilateral agreements pertaining to numerous areas.

The two Ministers discussed the convening of the first session of the Joint Committee on Serbia-UAE cooperation, to be held in Belgrade in mid-November.

Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized that the visit of Serbia’s Foreign Minister was a confirmation of the two countries’ friendship and partnership, reiterating the readiness of his country to build excellent bilateral relations with the Republic of Serbia.

In today’s meeting, the Foreign Ministers of Serbia and the UAE agreed to abolish a visa requirement for citizens of Serbia travelling to that country.


Minister Dacic bids farewell to the Vice President of India

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic bid farewell at “Nikola Tesla” Airport to Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu, who was on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia. The farewell was also attended by Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic.

Minister Dacic thanked the Vice President of India for the highly successful visit, expressing his conviction that the visit would give an additional impetus to the further enhancement of good bilateral relations.

The visit of the Vice President of India to Serbia included his meeting with the country’s highest officials, the signing of several bilateral agreements, and the convening of the Serbia – India Business Forum.
