“Reaching agreement on telecommunications with Pristina is highly important for the interests of Serbia. The manner in which the issue of our property in Kosovo and Metohija is being resolved is of vital importance to Serbia, because this is also important for resolving a number of other open issues.
This is proof that the Serbian Government has pursued the right policy, one that was both constructive in the dialogue, and uncompromising in terms of protection of our national interests. Furthermore, the International Telecommunication Union has not recognized Kosovo as a state, failing to admit it as a member as well, and Serbia will apply for a dialling code for Kosovo and Metohija as a geographical area, while the calls made between Kosovo and Metohija and other locations in Serbia will continue to have a long-distance character.
This agreement represents a failure of all the blackmail and ultimatum efforts put in by Pristina over more than two years, as well as the incoming failure of all their blackmail concerning the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities. Serbia is today a credible partner acting on its decisions and words, but won’t let anyone humiliate it”, said Minister Dacic.
