First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic sent today a message of condolences at the passing of Fidel Castro, who was at the helm of Cuba for many years:
“At the passing of former President of the Republic of Cuba Fidel Castro Ruz, I extend, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and on my own behalf, the expressions of profoundest condolences to the family and the people of Cuba.
Fidel Castro will be remembered in the history of Cuba and Latin America as one of the major champions of the ideas of freedom and independence.
The entire peace-loving world is immensely grateful to him for his indefatigable historic revolutionary fight for the protection of the rights of ordinary people, preservation of fundamental human values, international relations based on equality of States and respect of international law and the universal principles of equity.
With the demise of Comrade Fidel, the Republic of Serbia has lost a great and true friend, and a comrade-in-arms in the common quest for a better and a more just world”, states the message of condolence by Minister Dacic.
