First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Secretary of State for European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic Margarida Marques.
During the talks, they exchanged views on current issues related to the process of Serbia’s European integration, bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the future of the European Union, migration, regional cooperation and pressing international issues.
As part of the celebration of 135 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Portugal, top official visits were planned during 2017. President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic will pay an official visit to Portugal early next year, while Minister Dacic will visit Lisbon in the first quarter of 2017.
The importance of signing international agreements, especially the Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement, as a basis for further development of our economic relations, has been underlined.
Minister Dacic thanked Margarida Marques for the support of Portugal to our key foreign policy goals, particularly Serbia’s European integration, as well as readiness for further improvement of cooperation between our two countries in all areas.
