First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today the new Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Ri Pyong Du, who earlier today presented his Letters of Credence to President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic, thereby officially assuming the duties of the Ambassador of DPR Korea to Serbia, accredited from Bucharest on a non-resident basis.
Minister Dacic expressed gratitude for the principled position of DPR Korea on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.
Regarding the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the Minister underlined that Serbia was committed to the easing of tensions and finding a diplomatic solution through talks between the parties involved.
