First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with Speaker of the Riksdag (Parliament) of the Kingdom of Sweden Urban Ahlin.
Minister Dacic expressed satisfaction that marking 100 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Sweden started with a visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Sweden.
In a cordial meeting, both sides agreed that the bilateral relations between the two countries were traditionally good and friendly. Political dialogue is intense and takes place continuously at all levels, and there is also a mutual interest in further deepening and strengthening all aspects of bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic sphere.
Minister Dacic pointed out that the Republic of Serbia appreciated in particular the active support of the Kingdom of Sweden to Serbia’s European integration and conveyed the expectation that it would continue in the future.
Speaker Ahlin praised the continuation of comprehensive reforms implemented by the Government of Serbia and reiterated the readiness of Sweden to continue supporting the European integration of the Republic of Serbia and in the further course of the negotiation process with the European Union.
The two sides exchanged views on the continuation of the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue in Brussels and on the current issues in the region. They also discussed the migrant crisis, the fight against terrorism, as well as other international issues.
