First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Indonesia, headed by Asril Hamzah Tanjung, Deputy Chairman of Commission I at the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (Defense, Foreign and Information Affairs). The Indonesian parliamentary delegation is visiting Belgrade at the invitation of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic.
In the talks, both sides expressed satisfaction with the good relations existing between Serbia and Indonesia, and the readiness for their further all-round enhancement. The Serbian side particularly underlined its gratitude for the support lent by the Republic of Indonesia to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
The two sides noted that there were significant potentials for the advancement of economic cooperation between the two countries, and expressed their satisfaction with Indonesian investments successfully made in Serbia so far (“Indofood” plant and “Etira” company), in anticipation of new Indonesian companies in the Serbian market.
Minister Dacic reiterated his gratitude for Indonesia’s positive position regarding Serbia’s interest to accede to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia with ASEAN, an organization where Indonesia plays a significant role, and which has recently marked an important jubilee – the 50th anniversary of its foundation.
