Acting Assistant Foreign Minister for Security Policy, Ambassador Branimir Filipovic participates in the Third Conference of States Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) held in Geneva from 11-15 September 2017.
The conference was opened by the Foreign Ministers of Finland and Switzerland. In their opening speeches they underlined the significant contribution of the ATT in regulating international transfer of small arms and light weapons.
In his statement during today’s general debate, Ambassador Filipovic conveyed readiness of our country to implement the ATT. He pointed to the importance of continuing efforts towards the universalization of ATT membership, as well as the need to strengthen its implementation at national levels.
The Ambassador expressed his expectation that proper implementation of the ATT would contribute to achieving the goals outlined in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
