State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nemanja Stevanovic had talks today with the Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Head of the UK Diplomatic Service, Ambassador Simon McDonald.
During the talks, Ambassador McDonald conveyed the message that his country supported Serbia’s European path, although the United Kingdom was leaving the EU, and underlined the importance of the Western Balkans Summit, to be hosted by the UK in 2018.
The talks confirmed the interest and readiness for continuation of bilateral cooperation and its further promotion in the areas of education and training of diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia at prestigious British universities, as well as in other areas.
Within the framework of observing the 180th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Great Britain, Ambassador McDonald held a lecture at the Diplomatic Academy entitled: “Diplomacy 2020”.
