State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Toncev has met today with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Colombia, Ms Patti Londono Jaramillo.
Current issues in the field of bilateral cooperation and possibilities for its promotion were discussed in the cordial talks. Agriculture, tourism, culture, education and sports were recognized as the areas of common interest. The two sides also discussed concrete proposals they both supported and understood, which would be further elaborated in the future.
Our side expressed gratitude to Colombia for its abstention in relation to UNESCO membership bid by Pristina authorities in 2015.
Visa liberalization between Serbia and Colombia was recognized as further opportunity for strengthening economic ties and tourism.
The Colombian side informed us that, with a view to further promoting cooperation, it planned to transfer cooperation affairs with Serbia to the Embassy of Colombia in Budapest. The meeting was also attended by Ms Ana Piedad Jaramillo Restrepo, Ambassador of Colombia to Serbia on non-resident basis, with residence in Budapest.
In an informal segment of the visit, the two guests from Colombia had an opportunity to meet the members of the Djokovic family and to see some of the trophies won by our best tennis player Novak Djokovic.
