First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has received today new Ambassador of the Italian Republic Carlo Lo Cascio who assumed his duties in the Republic of Serbia in late April.
In the spirit of the friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation, Minister Dacic wished Ambassador Lo Cascio a successful tenure in the Republic of Serbia.
In the cordial talks, the two collocutors noted an exceptionally high level of the bilateral relations and expressed mutual readiness for the further intensification of political dialogue and cooperation in many areas of common interest.
In the light of the strategic partnership of the two countries, Minister Dacic conveyed Serbia’s interest in continuing its cooperation with the new Italian Government, including by organizing joint sessions of the two Governments. He expressed gratitude for the strong and continued support that Italy extended to Serbia’s European integration path and the stability of the Western Balkan region.
Both sides underlined, in particular, the importance of economic relations, as an area with a strong perspective for further development, through new investments of leading Italian companies already present on the Serbian market.
