Bilateral political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro were held today in Belgrade at the level of MFA Secretary Generals.
The Serbian delegation, headed by Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Veljko Odalovic, and Montenegrin delegation, headed by Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Veselin Sukovic, in the first session of consultations focused mainly on property/legal and status-related issues as well as on the strengthening of cooperation between the two ministries’ diplomatic academies.
During the second session of consultations, headed by Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister Ambassador Tamara Rastovac Siamashvili on the Serbian side and Director General for Bilateral Affairs Ivan Lekovic on the Montenegrin side, was devoted to a comprehensive exchange of the two sides’ views on the current situation of overall bilateral relations between Serbia and Montenegro, as well as to the situation in the Southeast Europe region.
In the talks, both sides expressed readiness to further promote their bilateral relations and cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, including the fields of economy, transport, infrastructure, tourism and culture. The two sides stated their readiness to step up relations and cooperation between the two ministries, agreeing in this context to soon arrange a new round of consultations to deal with concrete issues of mutual interest.
