First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic presented today a diplomatic passport to Filip Filipovic, a waterpolo player and goodwill ambassador.
Minister Dacic said that this act was an opportunity for the state to repay in this way too, more than symbolically, to sportsmen and sportswomen for winning medals for Serbia.
“A diplomatic passport is not a precondition for our medallists to be ambassadors of our country, because they have already demonstrated by their results and through their behaviour that they are true ambassadors of the country”, stated Minister Dacic.
Goodwill Ambassador Filip Filipovic thanked Minister Dacic for this nice gesture of the state, expressing the hope that the state would continue to support waterpolo players, as with this gesture the state showed the level of appreciation for their achievements and for the way in which they represented the country in international competitions.
“This is indeed a nice gesture by the state, and I am really flattered to be provided a diplomatic passport. I wish to express my great gratitude to Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic”.
