First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today for the first time Zahir Tannin, the new Head of the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).
The assessment of the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, operation of UNMIK and the importance of further engagement of this Mission in areas crucial to the survival and normal and dignified life for Serbs and other non-Albanian communities in Kosovo and Metohija were presented at the meeting.
Minister Dacic conveyed the expectation that the Mission would continue to operate at full capacity on the basis of its mandate and in accordance with UNSCR 1244.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of the Mission in the implementation of the agreements reached in Brussels and the necessity to overcome the obstruction of the process by Pristina.
