First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacicconferred today with the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ms. Lilian Ploumen, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
The two interlocutors agreed that the bilateral relations were on the ascending line, void of outstanding issues. They underlined that there was room for the further promotion of these relations, particularly in the economic field.
Minister Dacic expressed gratitude for the Netherlands’ support to Serbia’s EU integration course and expressed conviction that next negotiating chapters would be opened during its EU Council Presidency.
Minister Ploumen expressed the Netherlands’ readiness to continue to support Serbia on its EU integration path. She highlighted, in particular, that the determination of Serbia to pursue its comprehensive reform process had been recognized by the Netherlands.
The two Ministers exchanged views on the migrant crisis and pointed out that the agreements reached must be implemented. Minister Dacic underscored the necessity of Serbia being timely informed about the measures to be taken by some EU Member States.
Minister Ploumen extended special thanks for the assistance that Serbia had been offering to refugeesthat she witnessed herself during her visit to Sid on the occasion of which she handed in 4,000 sleeping bags and 4 ambulance vehicles donated by the Netherlands.
