From 29 to 31 May 2016, within the Bulgarian Chairmanship of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), the Meeting of the SEECP Committee of Political Directors, Annual Meeting of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), and Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SEECP Participants were held in Pravets, Bulgaria.
The delegation of the Republic of Serbia to the aforementioned meetings was headed by Ms. Marina Jovicevic, PhD, Acting Assistant MFA for the European Union.
During the meetings of the SEECP, among others, the Participants had an exchange on the current developments in South-East Europe and their impact on the regional cooperation. A draft Declaration on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the SEECP was approved, and its adoption is planned for the SEECP Summit, to take place in Sofia on 1 June 2016. The Republic of Serbia at the SEECP Summit will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki.
The meeting also considered the progress achieved in the implementation of the RCC Strategy and the Work Plan for the 2014-2016 period. The guidelines for RCC’s functioning in the next three-year period were also presented, and views were exchanged on the situation in the region and on the role of the RCC in promoting strategic coordination of the process of regional cooperation in South-East Europe.
The Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SEECP Participants marks the end of the Bulgarian Chairmanship of the SEECP, and the next Chairmanship of the SEECP will be assumed by the Republic of Croatia.
