First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic participated in the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the so-called “Berlin Process” in Paris today.
The Foreign Ministers discussed the current political issues, such as the current regional issues facing the Western Balkans, strengthening regional cooperation, solving the issue of migration, and current security issues.
During today’s meeting, the Ministers exchanged views on youth cooperation in the Western Balkans (actually initiation of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office), and they considered the state of achievements reached in the implementation of projects in the field of infrastructure and energy, agreed on last year, during the Vienna Western Balkans Summit.
Today’s gathering is one of the key preparatory meetings for the Western Balkans Summit that will be held in Paris, on 4 July 2016. The Paris WB Summit will be the continuation of the Western Balkans Summit, held in Vienna in 2015, and the Conference of Western Balkan States, held in Berlin 2015.
Minister Dacic also met today with his colleague, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Marc Ayrault. Ministers Dacic and Ayrault jointly estimated that the bilateral relations were good. The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized Serbia’s readiness to develop and promote the overall cooperation with France.
