First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met Ms. Angelina Eichhorst, European External Action Service (EEAS) Director for Western Europe, the Western Balkans and Turkey, who is visiting Belgrade today.
Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude to representatives of the EU institutions for their partner approach to the Serbia-EU negotiating process, as well as his expectation that the European integration process would be maintained in the coming period, acting as an important stimulus for the Serbian Government to be formed.
Ms. Eichhorst underlined that she expected the new Government to continue to adhere to the European path, especially having in mind positive developments in the negotiations concerning Chapters 23 and 24. Ms. Eichhorst expressed her hope that the Belgrade- Pristina dialogue would be resumed once the Government took office, and that tangible progress would be made in the negotiations between the two parties. She particularly praised Serbia’s conduct in the course of the migrant crisis, and the measures taken to organize the reception of refugees coming from conflict areas.
