First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a meeting today with the Special Envoy of the Canadian Prime Minister to the European Union and Europe, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Ambassador Stéphane Dion.
During the meeting, the interlocutors signed the Air Transport Agreement assessed as a highly important step in further connecting the two countries and their people.
Mutual satisfaction was expressed at the enhancement of bilateral relations between the countries in recent years, primarily through the revitalization of the high-level political dialogue and development of economic cooperation through Canadian investments in the economy of the Republic of Serbia.
Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude for Canada’s continued support for the European path of Serbia, recognizing the commitment to the ongoing reform processes in the Republic of Serbia.
Both sides assessed as important to seek in the future what connects and brings the two countries closer together.
In this context, the marking of the centenary of the end of the First World War will offer a good opportunity to recall the historical alliance between the two countries and peoples, and the countries’ tradition in the quest for preserving the foremost civilizational heritage and values.
