On 11 September 2017, Belgrade was the venue of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Turkey. The Serbian delegation to the consultations was led by State Secretary Nemanja Stevanovic, while the Turkish delegation was headed by Under-Secretary Ulmit Yalçin.
Consultations presented an opportunity to review the current state of overall bilateral relations between Serbia and Turkey and to identify possibilities and directions in the further development of their bilateral cooperation.
Both sides expressed readiness in the discussions to further promote bilateral relations and cooperation in all areas of common interest, primarily in the economy, transport, infrastructure, tourism and culture.
In the course of the consultations the two sides also exchanged views on the most important regional and international topics.
