Keep up the momentum of cooperation initiated between Serbia and Suriname in all areas of mutual interest

Ivica Dacic and Yldiz Deborah Pollack-BeighleFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a meeting today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Suriname Yldiz Deborah Pollack-Beighle, in the margins of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two Ministers concluded that bilateral cooperation had risen significantly since the last year’s UNGA Session and that many high-level visits had been exchanged.

The collocutors underlined that it was necessary to keep up the momentum of cooperation through the creation of a legal basis for the establishment of an applicable legal framework in all areas of mutual interest, with emphasis on economic cooperation.

Minister Ivica Dacic and Minister Yldiz Deborah Pollack-Beighle agreed on the joint activities to be undertaken at the international level, and on an exchange of trade delegations.


Republic of Serbia and Antigua and Barbuda establish diplomatic relations

Ivica Dacic with Chet GreeneIn a brief ceremony held in the context of a bilateral meeting in the margins of the 73rd UNGA General Debate, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic and Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Immigration of Antigua and Barbuda Chet Greene signed a Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations.

In a friendly conversation, the two Ministers exchanged views about global and regional political processes, with special emphasis on opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation.

Minister Dacic also acquainted his colleague with the course of the comprehensive reforms undertaken by the Government of Serbia, and with Serbia’s European integration process.

The Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda underlined that his country aimed to have as many friends across the globe as possible, and that the cooperation evolved to the mutual satisfaction, for which reason they also intended to set up a legal framework by entering into international treaties in all areas of mutual interest.

Both Ministers expressed their satisfaction over the establishment of diplomatic relations, which were a precondition for further cooperation.


US supports continuation of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue

Brnabic - Dacic - WessSerbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic had a meeting today with Mr. Wess Mitchell, the US Assistant Secretary of State, in the margins of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic.

Mr. Mitchell expressed the US support to the continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, voicing his expectation that the process would result in a lasting political solution. He also stressed that the United States was open to consider, together with the partners from the EU, a settlement proposal advanced by Belgrade and Pristina.

The meeting also discussed opportunities for further enhancement of the bilateral political dialogue and cooperation in areas of economy, investment, defense and education.


Minister Dacic sends telegram of condolences following the death of Predrag Ejdus

Predrag EjdusFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic addressed a telegram of condolences to the family of actor Predrag Ejdus.

“Please accept my heartfelt condolences following the passing of Predrag Ejdus, a doyen of the Yugoslav and Serbian stage.

One of the finest and most convincing actors on the Serbian stage has left us. He was and will continue to be a unique figure in our culture, a man whose roles were without exception interwoven with his charm, manners and a refined sense of irony.

Only exquisite artists become popular and close like a family member with the broader audience. Predrag was an outstanding artist whose name will never fall into oblivion”, reads the condolence message sent by Minister Dacic.
