Ministers Dacic and Ljajic welcome U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross

Ivica Dacic, Rasim Ljajic and Wilbur RossFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic have welcome today, at Nikola Tesla Airport, US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

Ministers Dacic and Ljajic greeted Secretary Ross, expressing great pleasure at his first visit to Serbia.

Minister Dacic reiterated that the visit was very important and that it was, at the same time, an opportunity to promote cooperation between the economies of the two countries including the political dialogue on top level.

Secretary Ross will have a meeting today with the President of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, on which occasion Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of infrastructure between the two governments will be signed.


Minister Dacic confers with Ambassador of the State of Qatar

Ivica Dacic and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-ThaniFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today the Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Belgrade, Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al-Thani, who delivered to him an invitation to visit the State of Qatar extended by Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.

Minister Dacic was also invited to participate in Doha Forum 2018, one of the major world forums discussing political, economic, regional and international issues.

The talks focused on topics pertaining to bilateral and multilateral cooperation and the development of friendly relations and cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the State of Qatar.


Establishment of the civilian segment of cooperation with the National Guard of Ohio contributes to the further promotion of relations between the two countries in several areas

National Guard of OhioFirst Deputy Prime Minister of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Ivica Dacic has received today the civilian segment of the delegation from the National Guard of Ohio, visiting Serbia from 3 to 9 September as part of the military-civilian delegation.

The civilian part of the delegation was headed by South Euclid Mayor Georgine Welo, who is of Balkan descent.

During the meeting, both sides expressed their satisfaction over the visit of the Mayor of South Euclid and representatives of the Ohio National Guard to Serbia, on the basis of a very successful military-to-military cooperation within the state partnership lasting for over 11 years (established back in 2006), and the possibilities for extending this cooperation to include the civilian part as an important segment of bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States.

It was noted that the establishment of the civilian segment of this cooperation contributed to the further improvement of relations between the two countries in several areas, through various initiatives to put in touch companies from Serbia and Ohio as well as the academic and cultural institutions.

The two sides indicated that the fact that a large number of Serbian expatriates traditionally lived in Ohio was one more reason to further enhance cultural, educational and economic ties between Serbia and Ohio.
The delegation will also visit Kraljevo to attend the twinning ceremony between South Euclid and Kraljevo cities.


Minister Dacic: “The issue of Republic of Srpska and the Serbian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina is to us an issue of utmost national importance”

Ivica Dacic with Milorad DodikFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today in Banja Luka with President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic and Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining Petar Djokic.

At a press conference after the meeting, Minister Dacic stressed that the Republic of Srpska had the support of Serbia and called on all not to forget that there was only one Republic of Srpska and to look after its future and relations with Serbia.

“The issue of Republic of Srpska and the Serbian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina is to us an issue of utmost national importance”, the Minister underlined.

He recalled that joint activities – namely the recent joint session of the two Governments in Trebinje, noting that it reflected a continuity in successful cooperation and joint work on important projects.

The Serbian Foreign Minister stressed that Serbia had no intention of destabilizing the area. He reiterated that the matters of daily life should not be addressed in a political context, and that prosperity was what mattered the most to people.

Minister Dacic sad that Serbia’s highest officials would visit Banja Luka on 17 September, during the visit to the Republic of Srpska by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik recalled the joint activities carried out by Srpska and Serbia and thanked Minister Dacic for his support to the Republic of Srpska. He emphasized that Serbs оf the Republic of Srpska and those of Serbia were one and the same people.
