Political consultations with the Hellenic Republic were held in Athens, on 9 October 2015, under the 2010 Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic on the Acceleration of Serbia’s European Integration Process.
Consultations were conducted, on the Greek part, by Ambassador Dmitrios Tsiras, Director General for European Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, and Acting Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the EU, Dr. Marina Jovicevic, who also had talks before the consultations with Alternate Minister of European Affairs Nikos Ksidakis.
The main topics on the consultations agenda were the migration and asylum crisis, sequencing of opening the first negotiating chapters with Serbia, Chapter 31 on EU Common Foreign and Security Policy, preparation of the Report on Serbia’s progress, regional cooperation, dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Chapters 23 and 24, as well as the upcoming meeting of the Joint Implementation Commission on the Memorandum of Cooperation in the Context of European Integration.
