Our Consulate
The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Vancouver was established by decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and formed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 28, 2005, with the goal of improving consular services for Serbian citizens in British Columbia and strengthening ties between the Republic of Serbia and this Canadian province.
Peter Vladiković, a respected architect and longtime member of the Serbian community in Vancouver, was appointed Honorary Consul.
The Honorary Consulate was officially opened on October 6, 2005, in the presence of representatives of the Provincial Government of British Columbia, the diplomatic corps of British Columbia, and representatives of the Serbian community. Its opening marked a significant step in strengthening the presence of the Republic of Serbia on Canada's west coast, as well as in providing support to the large Serbian diaspora living in the region.

Dipl.Eng.Arch. MAIBC
Peter Vladiković is one of the most prominent representatives of the Serbian community in Canada, whose work has made a significant contribution to strengthening the international reputation of the Republic of Serbia in Canada and affirming its interests. An architect by education, at heart a great artist – a painter, a highly successful businessman, and an inventor whose solutions are applied in high-rise construction around the world, Vladiković is also the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Vancouver. In that role, through his activities, he helps many of our people connect with Serbia and with our community in British Columbia, while also helping Canadians better get to know and connect with Serbia. He has established numerous political and business contacts between Serbian state institutions, entrepreneurs, and Canadian partners. As president of a multinational construction company, he has also launched a significant investment in Serbia, wishing to set a personal example that encourages others to invest in the country's economy.
He has received prestigious state and church honours for decades of work preserving Serbian culture and identity and strengthening ties between the homeland and the diaspora. Among his most significant honours are:
- National Recognition for Serbs from the Diaspora, the "Slobodan Jovanović" Award – the highest honour of its kind, awarded to him for exceptional merit and contribution to strengthening the reputation of the homeland and the diaspora, as well as for promoting Serbian interests around the world.
- The Order of St. Sava – a high honour bestowed upon him by Serbian Patriarch Pavle for his humanitarian work, particularly for designing and building the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael and the cultural center in Vancouver. This temple, in whose construction Vladiković took part as both an architect and a humanitarian, is described by the highest representatives of the Serbian Church as one of the most beautiful Serbian temples in the diaspora and an example of how such buildings should be built.
In addition to his architectural and humanitarian work, Vladiković founded the Serbian Film Festival in Vancouver in 2007, and he also serves as president of its Board of Directors. For nearly two decades, this cultural event has brought Serbian cinema to Canadian audiences and promoted Serbian cultural heritage across North America.
Peter Vladiković always carries his people and his country in his heart and represents them in Canada at every level of his work.
