First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel in the Republic of Serbia, Dr. Alona Fisher Kamm.
Minister Dacic underlined the importance Serbia attached to its cooperation with Israel, as well as its interest to develop bilateral relations and all-round cooperation with this country, while Ambassador Fisher Kamm assessed the relations between the two countries as good and friendly.
Both sides confirmed their interest and readiness to carry out the initiative taken by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Belgrade to hold, before the end of 2017, a series of academic and cultural events on the occasion of the centenary of the Balfour Declaration and the 25th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Serbia and the State of Israel.
Referring to the activities of the Republic of Serbia regarding restitution and preservation of Holocaust remembrance, Minister Dacic particularly emphasized the need for Serbia, and Israel as the motherland of the Jewish people, to act together to the effect of combatting the attempts at revision of history, that were becoming ever more evident in the Western Balkans region.
The interlocutors confirmed their interest to conduct, in the coming period, regular bilateral political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries to discuss extensively all topics of common interest.
