First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today in Baghdad with President of the Republic of Iraq Muhammad Fuad Masum.
In the talks, they underlined the friendly relations between the two countries as well as their historic importance.
The Iraqi President stressed the historic significance of Belgrade-Baghdad cooperation which had been developing without open issues, to the satisfaction of both sides.
President Masum expressed his gratitude for the support the Republic of Serbia extended to the Republic of Iraq in combating terrorism, especially ISIL.
The President also emphasized the importance of promoting parliamentary cooperation as an important factor in the development of overall relations between the two countries.
He also underscored the importance of economic cooperation and the need to, in this context, build upon the excellent political relations between the two sides.
The Iraqi President invited Serbian companies to take part in the reconstruction and development of the Republic of Iraq.
