First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda Henry Okello.
At the meeting, the interlocutors underlined the traditionally close relations existing between the two countries, and supported their further promotion in all areas of mutual interest. In this context, they highlighted the importance of intensifying political dialogue, including the realization of the planned high-level visits.
The talks indicated the need of deepening economic cooperation in the areas of agriculture, tourism, construction, telecommunications and pharmaceutical industry.
Minister Dacic expressed his special gratitude for the principled position of the Republic of Uganda concerning non-recognition of the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo, along with his expectation that Uganda will continue to support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.
The meeting between First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and Henry Okella is organized within the framework of political consultations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Uganda, which are held in Belgrade. The host of the delegation of Uganda is State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nemanja Stevanovic.
