First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia met today with Ms. Mary Warlick, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the State Department’s Bureau of Energy Resources, who is visiting the Republic of Serbia within her tour of the region.
They discussed the issue of energy safety in the Republic of Serbia and the region of the Western Balkans.
Minister Dacic pointed out that energy safety was an important economic, foreign-political and security issue both for the Republic of Serbia and for the Western Balkans. He also stressed that Serbia was seeking to ensure long-term stable energy sources and expressed the readiness of the Serbian side to take part in projects that would make it possible in the future.
Mary Warlick conveyed the US support for the diversification of gas and other energy supply, which was deemed essential in the long-term stability of all countries of the WB region.
