First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had numerous bilateral meetings on the final day of the 17th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement.
In cordial talks, Minister Dacic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala Carlos Raul Morales estimated as very substantive the mutual cooperation and support existing at multilateral level. At today’s meeting they agreed on exchanging bilateral visits, aiming to deepen the excellent bilateral cooperation and to extend it to include the fields of economy, culture and education.
The Head of Serbian diplomacy also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria Ramtane Lamamra. At the meeting it was estimated that the traditional friendly ties between our two countries were developing to the mutual satisfaction. Furthermore, both sides noted their expectation that economic and trade cooperation would continue to grow. They noted the high level of mutual support lent in the multilateral arena. The two Ministers agreed that it was necessary to realize high-level bilateral meetings as soon as possible.
Minister Dacic also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bhutan Damcho Dorji. Minister Dacic expressed gratitude for the principled position regarding Kosovo and Metohija. The two Ministers estimated that it was necessary to develop bilateral ties, the level of which was low due to their large geographic distance and rare contacts between them, but also noted that a strong political will existed on both sides in this context. The Head of Serbian diplomacy extended an invitation to his counterpart to pay an official visit to Serbia.
Minister Dacic also had talks today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sudan Ibrahim Ghandoor. The Head of Serbian diplomacy expressed gratitude for the principled position and the support regarding Kosovo and Metohija. It was estimated that there was great scope for development of economic and cultural relations. Minister Dacic invited his counterpart from the Sudan to visit Belgrade, with the aim of promoting the bilateral relations further.
Minister Ivica Dacic also met with Prime Minister of Kingdom of Swaziland Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini. The two officials estimated that the bilateral ties were at an advanced level. At the meeting, it was also agreed to enhance cooperation at all levels, as well as to exchange top-level meetings in order to give impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation, to the satisfaction of both sides.
On the final day of the Summit Minister Dacic also had talks with Prime Minister of Uganda Ruhakana Rugunda who confirmed the principled position of Uganda regarding non-recognition of Kosovo, for which the Head of diplomacy expressed his gratitude. In the talks, both sides estimated that it was necessary to deepen economic and cultural relations, as well as relations in other spheres, to go hand in hand with the excellent political relations between our two countries. Aiming to promote the cooperation further, they agreed on exchanging high-level meetings, as well as on continuing the excellent cooperation existing at multilateral level.
The Head of Serbian diplomacy also had talks with Prime Minister of Namibia Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila. Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude for the principled position regarding Kosovo and Metohija, extending an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Serbia. In the talks, Minister Dacic recalled the sincere historical ties which pointed to the potential for development of bilateral cooperation in numerous spheres. The Prime Minister of Namibia expressed her gratitude for the support extended to her country, highlighting the importance of the promotion of bilateral relations, and confirmed that her country’s position regarding Kosovo and Metohija would not change.
Minister Dacic had talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh. The interlocutors noted that relations between the two countries were friendly in all areas, pointing to the importance of establishing regular communication in order to promote our substantive cooperation further. The Head of Serbian diplomacy expressed gratitude for the position of Vietnam regarding Kosovo and Metohija, extending an invitation to his counterpart to visit Serbia.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs had talks with Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Ralph Gonsalves. Minister Dacic expressed gratitude for the position of this country regarding the status of Kosovo. Both sides estimated that there was great potential for the development of bilateral ties in a number of fields, as well as that it was necessary to extend mutual support at multilateral level. The Head of Serbian diplomacy invited Prime Minister Gonsalves to pay a visit to Serbia. The Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines underlined that he was satisfied with the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as that his country would not change its position regarding Kosovo.
