First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, on his official visit to India, held a lecture “Serbia in the region, Europe and the world” at the renowned Indian Council of World Affairs, which was streamed live via video link.
On this occasion, Minister Dacic informed numerous prominent representatives of Indian and foreign diplomatic, academic and intellectual circles about the current developments in the Western Balkans region and regional cooperation, Serbia’s EU accession process and the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
In the year marking the 70th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations with India, the Serbian Foreign Minister recalled the long-standing tradition of friendly relations between the two countries, dating back to the creation of the Non-Aligned Movement, but also to the time prior to their formal establishment and the 1926 visit to Belgrade by Rabindranath Tagore, the great Indian thinker and Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature.
