First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic attended today the formal opening of the Summit of the Francophonie, taking place in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar.
On the inaugural day of the Summit, Minister Dacic had separate bilateral talks with Foreign Ministers of Togo, Burundi and Luxembourg as well as with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam.
In the talks, the officials discussed ways to promote bilateral political and economic cooperation, focusing on the intensification of top-level bilateral visits.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam reaffirmed their principled position concerning non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, extending an invitation to President Nikolic to visit Vietnam.
In a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Luxembourg, issues related to Serbia’s European integration were discussed, as well as migration trends and current developments in the European Union and its relations with key partners. The Foreign Minister of Luxembourg accepted the invitation to visit Serbia early next year.
Foreign Ministers of Togo and Burundi expressed willingness to intensify dialogue with our country and promote cooperation in the field of education.
