First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Gleb Nikitin.
The meeting followed after the formal opening of “EXPO RUSSIA-SERBIA 2017” trade show, held for the fourth time in Belgrade.
In the talks they discussed the current situation in and prospects for further development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, particularly in the context of familiarizing Russian investors with Serbian economy, realization of previous agreements, and also new joint projects.
Both sides estimated that there was high potential for the further promotion of economic cooperation, which should be worked on with dedication, noting that the ongoing event and other similar events largely contributed to the establishment of direct contacts between business entities coming from the two countries.
High level of Serbia-Algeria relations noted, further strengthening of bilateral cooperation at political and economic levels
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelhamid Chebchoub.
Recalling the traditionally good relations between the two countries, Minister Dacic noted that there was room for further promotion and intensification of political and economic bilateral cooperation as well as its other forms. He expressed the expectation that the established dynamic of visits at high and top levels would continue, hoping that a visit by the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs would be realized later this year.
Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude for the principled position of Algeria concerning non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo as well as expectation that the Algerian side would continue its support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia, and also to Serbia’s efforts aimed at resolving the issue of Kosovo and Metohija peacefully, through dialogue.
Ambassador Chebchoub thanked the Minister for receiving him and noted the high level of Serbia-Algeria relations, stressing the importance of further strengthening the bilateral cooperation at political and economic levels.
Furthermore, the Ambassador emphasized that the two countries shared the same or similar positions in the international arena, as well as that Algeria would remain committed to its principled position concerning non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo.
In today’s meeting, the Algerian Ambassador briefly informed Minister Dacic about the current situation in the Maghreb region.
